Fraport Invests 6.5 M Euro In Bulgaria's Varna Airport
Varna Airport concessionaire Fraport invested 6.5 million in the modernisation and the enlargement of a passenger terminal.
New luggage carousels, more registration desks and border checkpoints feature in the renovated terminal, mediapool.bg said.
Transport Minister Petar Moutafchiev will open the terminal officially on June 20 2007.
The terminal will increase the capacity of the airport by 40 per cent. Currently only six flights can be handled each hour. The new terminal will raise their number to nine per hour.
Still, the airport registered a decrease of 9.3 per cent in the number of passengers serviced in May 2007 as compared to the figures for May 2006.
