The most suitable location for the construction of the third Danube bridge connecting Bulgaria and Romania will be decided in about two months. There are four available options which are currently the main point of various debates. The bridge might be constructed next to the first Danube bridge at Ruse and Giurgiu and the possible options are: Silistra and Calarasi, Nikopol and Turnu Magurele or Oryahovo and Bechet.
60 years ago, the first Dnube bridge was launched into operation and experts said, there could be built a second one. First of all, the conditions for the new construction will be explored and this bilateral project will be possible under the Danube region strategy operative programmes. The discussion regarding the to-be-built bridge was held by all the governors of the Municipalities of Pleven, Ruse, Vratsa and Silistra as well as by all their Romanian colleagues.
