7 million tourists visited Bulgaria in 2013

Approximately 7 million tourists visited Bulgaria last year. In 2013, our country reached an unique record and the tourism income is going to exceed 3 billion leva for the first time, Branimir Botev, the Deputy Minister of Economy told local media. More than 8,2% Bulgarians and foreigners are going to spend their holidays during 2014. In Botev’ s opinion, the aim of The Bulgarian Ministry of Economy and Energy  is 3% more booked-up beds in the hotels. Income growth is expected to reach up to 2% and the number of foreign tourists is likely to grow by 4%. However, Branimir Botev reckons that the number of the tourists is about to exceed the expectations. Recent analyses of the International Ski Federation reveal that Bulgaria has the chance to magnify its ski tourism potential more than five times than usual. Today, our country holds the fourth position in the chart of the European most preferred winter destination. Botev adds-‘The good thing is that Bulgaria offers a large variety of tourist products.’13% of the GDP of the country is formed by means of tourism-the Deputy Minister is convinced.
